ABOUT ME
I think I could sew before I could walk, ha - seriously I was about seven when I was given a sewing machine from Santa, and I haven't stopped sewing since.
I have completed various courses in the United Kingdom such as an Art and Design Diploma, textiles studies foundation to completing my BSc. Degree with honours in Textile Studies at the Bolton Institute and working mill in Lancashire back in 1997.
I relocated from the United Kingdom with my family to Niverville, Manitoba Canada just over ten years ago and in 2015, I started my own seamstress business called ButtonsMB.
I have made numerous garments from scratch from suits to dresses and jackets, completing a multitude of repairs and alterations. I do specialize in Highland Dance jacket, jig and sailor outfit creation and kilt alterations to meet the needs of the Winnipeg Highland Dance community. Post Covid, I will be enhancing my skills by attending the kilt making course at the Edinburgh Kilt Making Academy.

Tricia has been altering our children's Highland Dance costumes for the past few years and we have always been delighted with the results. She has altered many jackets for both our dancers, using her knowledge and skill to get the perfit fit. Tricia has made us a complete Jig outfit from scratch, giving our dancer a unique and beautiful costume. Not only is Tricia a talented seamstress, whom pays attention to the fine details of her work but has exemplary customer service! She has a warm personality and is easy to communicate with. We plan to continue using her services in the future!

Tricia, thank you so much for making a drapery panel into beautiful accent pillows. The headboard, bedskirt and drapes now flow together wonderfully. Your pillow design ties everything together perfectly.

Tricia is an excellent seamstress! She has hemmed and altered several tartan pipe band heavy weight kilts for me and she just finished making my pipe band vest from scratch which turned out to be a perfect fit! She listens to your sewing needs and takes pride in having it just right! She is a wonderful person to deal with and I highly recommend her.
